Summary
Patience Cavanaugh has lost hope for romance. When the man she yearned for died, her dreams went with him. Now she's restoring a boardinghouse in order to support herself. It seems like a perfect arrangement: Patience needs the help of someone with a strong back, and Sheriff Jedediah Jones needs a source of food for himself and his prisoners. But Patience gets more than she bargained for as she explores the depths of the "hanging lawman."
